FAQ

Check out the most frequently asked questions from customers and our answers:

Can you drink alcohol after getting a tattoo?2026-08-19T22:59:33+02:00

Preferably wait at least 24 hours after the session.
Alcohol thins the blood, which can complicate healing and increase the risk of complications.
For the safety of freshly tattooed skin, it’s recommended to avoid recreational substances and only use recommended aftercare products.

What should you avoid before getting a tattoo?2026-08-19T22:59:34+02:00

Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medication (such as aspirin) at least 24 hours before the session.
Also avoid sunbathing and exfoliating the area where the tattoo will go.
On the day of the treatment, it’s good to be well-rested and well-hydrated.

What can you compare tattoo pain to?2026-08-19T22:59:35+02:00

It’s often described as a scratching sensation, a slight burning feeling, or repeated pinpricks.
Some compare the pain to a sharp needle across the skin, others to a pinch from a hot object.
The intensity of the sensation is, however, very personal.

Where does a tattoo hurt the least?2026-08-19T22:59:36+02:00

Areas with a slightly thicker layer of subcutaneous tissue, such as the outside of the forearm, the calf, or the buttocks, are usually experienced as less painful.
Even in these spots, tattoo pain is subjective and depends on individual sensitivity.

Where does a tattoo hurt the most?2026-08-19T22:59:36+02:00

Most discomfort is experienced in areas with thin skin and sensitive tissue, such as the ribs, breastbone, ankles, armpit and groin area, or the inside of the arms.
However, everyone reacts differently to tattoo pain, so it remains a highly individual matter.

How do you choose a tattoo that fits your character?2026-08-19T22:59:37+02:00

The most important thing is to find a tattoo motif that has meaning for you and reflects your personality.
At Jungle Tattoo, we often start with a conversation about your passions, interests, and lifestyle.
Together with our artist, you can create a design that matches your character and taste.

How much does it cost to remove a tattoo?2026-08-19T22:59:39+02:00

The price for one laser tattoo removal treatment usually starts at a few hundred euros, but the total cost depends on the number of sessions needed and the size of the tattoo.
It’s recommended to contact the studio directly for an accurate quote.

How do you remove a tattoo?2026-08-19T22:59:40+02:00

The most popular and effective method is laser tattoo removal.
During this treatment, the pigmentation under the skin is broken down with a laser beam.
The number of sessions needed to completely remove a tattoo depends on the color of the ink, the depth, and the size of the design.

How long should you moisturize a tattoo?2026-08-19T22:59:41+02:00

It’s usually recommended to moisturize the tattoo a few times a day for about 2-3 weeks.
However, it’s good to keep an eye on the skin – if it’s dry or itchy, you can extend this period to ensure optimal hydration and speed up healing.

What do you use to moisturize a tattoo?2026-08-19T22:59:41+02:00

Specialized ointments and creams for aftercare of fresh tattoos work best, available at pharmacies or tattoo studios.
At Jungle Tattoo, we recommend products without fragrances and irritants.
Hypoallergenic creams with a restorative effect are also a good choice.

How long does it take for a tattoo to heal?2026-08-19T22:59:42+02:00

Usually the skin needs 2 to 4 weeks to form the first layer of healing.
However, full recovery can take up to a few months.
The healing time of a tattoo depends on the individual makeup of the body, the size of the tattoo, and following the aftercare advice.

How do you take care of a tattoo?2026-08-19T22:59:43+02:00

There are various schools of thought worldwide when it comes to how to take care of a tattoo.

It all depends on the type of tattoo, but the basic rules for tattoo aftercare are similar.
After the session is finished and the artist has covered the tattoo with protective film, you need to change the dressing at home. Follow the steps below:

  1. Hygiene comes first:
Wash your hands thoroughly before every dressing change to minimize the risk of infection.
  2. Removing the old film:
Carefully remove the film without irritating the skin around the tattoo.
  3. Washing the tattoo:
Wash the tattoo with room-temperature water and antibacterial soap. Then rinse off all soap residue thoroughly.
  4. Drying:
Gently pat the tattoo dry with a paper towel. Never rub the skin, to prevent damage.
  5. Hydrating:
Apply a thin layer of special tattoo cream to the dry tattoo. You can buy this product directly at our studio. Spread the cream evenly.
  6. Covering with film (first 2-3 days):
Protect the tattoo with film again after every application of cream. Repeat the whole process (steps 1 through 6) every 2-3 hours during the first 2-3 days.
  7. Further care (day 3 to 14):
From the third day onward, covering with film is no longer necessary. Wash the tattoo regularly, every 2-3 hours, pat dry gently, and apply aftercare cream.

Does getting a tattoo hurt?2026-08-19T22:59:45+02:00

Getting a tattoo is not painless.
Our tattoo artists ensure your comfort and minimize pain during the tattooing process, but keep in mind that pain is unavoidable, since the tattoo process involves the skin.
Still, experiencing pain is a subjective matter that depends on many factors.
For some, tattoo pain is just a slight discomfort, for others it’s a more intense experience.
It all depends on individual sensitivity, the location on the body, the artist’s working style, and the technique used.
